Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, and access issues are handled for purchases made through www.localchinatips.com.

LocalChinaTips provides digital travel information products and online travel support services. We do not sell physical products. Therefore, there are no physical items to return.

1. Digital Products

Our digital products may include downloadable PDF guides, travel documents, checklists, templates, or other digital files.

Digital products are delivered electronically. No physical item will be shipped.

After purchase, the download link for the digital product will be provided automatically. Unless otherwise stated, you are responsible for downloading and saving the digital product within 14 days from the date of purchase. After this period, the download link may expire or no longer be available.

Because digital products can be accessed, downloaded, copied, or used immediately after purchase, all digital product sales are final once access to the product has been provided or the download has started, unless required otherwise by applicable law.

By purchasing a digital product, you agree that the digital content may be delivered immediately. You also acknowledge that once the digital content has been made available to you, you may lose your right to cancel the purchase and request a refund, unless required otherwise by applicable law.

We do not offer refunds for digital products because of:

change of mind;

accidental purchase;

lack of use after purchase;

failure to download the file within the 14-day access period;

personal travel plan changes;

dissatisfaction after accessing the digital product, unless required otherwise by applicable law.

If you experience a technical issue with accessing or downloading your digital product during the 14-day access period, please contact us at hello@localchinatips.com. We will make reasonable efforts to help you access the product you purchased.

If you cannot access your digital product because of a technical issue on our side, we will make reasonable efforts to restore access or provide an alternative download method. If we cannot provide access to the product you purchased, we will offer a reasonable solution.

2. Email-Based Support Services

Our email-based support services may include personalized travel advice, practical preparation support, itinerary feedback, destination guidance, or other written support based on the information you provide.

To provide the service properly, you may be asked to provide relevant information about your trip, preferences, travel dates, destinations, questions, or practical concerns.

Once we have started working on your request, including reviewing your information, preparing advice, researching your situation, or writing a response, the service is considered to have started.

You may request cancellation only if we have not yet started working on your support request.

If the service has already started but has not yet been fully completed, any refund may be refused or reduced proportionally to reflect the work already performed.

If the service has already been completed or delivered, no refund will be provided, unless required otherwise by applicable law.

Refunds are not provided for email-based support because of:

change of mind after submitting your request;

travel plan changes;

incomplete, inaccurate, or delayed information provided by you;

dissatisfaction with advice that has already been prepared or delivered;

failure to respond to follow-up questions;

not using the advice provided.

If we are unable to provide the service for a reason caused by us, we will offer a reasonable solution, which may include a refund, partial refund, rescheduling, or an alternative delivery method.

3. 1-on-1 Video Call Services

Our 1-on-1 video call services may include travel consultation, trip planning support, practical China travel guidance, or other personalized advice provided through an online meeting.

Cancellation by the customer

You may cancel or reschedule a video call by contacting us at hello@localchinatips.com.

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled call may be rescheduled once, subject to availability.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled call are non-refundable.

No-shows and late arrivals

If you do not attend the scheduled video call, the booking is considered used and no refund will be provided.

If you arrive late, the call may still end at the originally scheduled time. No partial refund will be provided for late arrival.

After the call

Once the video call has taken place, the service is considered fully delivered and no refund will be provided, unless required otherwise by applicable law.

If we are unable to attend or provide the scheduled call for a reason caused by us, we will offer a reasonable solution, which may include rescheduling, a refund, a partial refund, or an alternative delivery method.

4. Services Started During the Withdrawal Period

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases.

However, for digital content and services, this right may be lost or limited when you expressly agree that delivery or performance begins before the end of the withdrawal period and acknowledge the effect this may have on your withdrawal right.

By purchasing our digital products or booking our services, you may be asked to confirm that you agree to immediate digital delivery or immediate start of service performance before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period.

You acknowledge that:

for digital products, you may lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been made available to you;

for services, you may lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed;

if the service has already started but has not yet been fully completed, any refund may be reduced proportionally to reflect the work already performed.

Nothing in this policy affects any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.

5. Duplicate Payments or Technical Errors

If you believe you were charged twice, paid by mistake due to a technical issue, or did not receive access to a digital product after successful payment, please contact us at hello@localchinatips.com with your order details.

If a duplicate payment or technical payment error is confirmed, we will refund the duplicate or incorrect charge.

If you paid successfully but did not receive access to the digital product because of a technical issue on our side, we will make reasonable efforts to provide access or offer another reasonable solution.
